Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

A New Path Forward in Treating Depression
At our practice, we offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) — an advanced, non-invasive treatment for individuals struggling with depression, especially when medications have not provided enough relief.
TMS is an FDA-cleared, medication-free therapy that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. For many patients, it provides renewed hope and meaningful improvement in symptoms.
Most major insurance plans cover TMS therapy, particularly for individuals with treatment-resistant depression. Our team will gladly verify your benefits and guide you through
the process.
Why Consider TMS?
When Medications Aren’t Enough
If antidepressants have stopped working or have not provided adequate relief, TMS offers an effective alternative.
A Medication-Free Option
Because TMS does not involve prescription drugs, there are no medication-related side effects, drug interactions, or concerns about long-term dependence.
Clinically Proven Results
Extensive research shows that TMS can significantly reduce symptoms of treatment-resistant depression and has helped many individuals experience meaningful improvement when other treatments have not been effective.

How TMS Works
During treatment, a small magnetic coil is placed comfortably against your scalp. The device delivers brief magnetic pulses that pass safely through the skull and stimulate targeted areas of the brain.
These pulses focus on regions involved in mood regulation — most commonly the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex — helping to restore healthier patterns of brain activity.
The stimulation encourages improved communication within brain networks and supports the regulation of neurotransmitters that influence mood and emotional well-being.
TMS is typically provided five days per week for a total of 36 sessions. Each session lasts about 20 minutes. The benefits build gradually over time. Many patients begin noticing improvement within a few weeks, with continued progress throughout the course of treatment.
What Is TMS?
TMS is a safe, outpatient treatment that helps activate underactive regions of the brain linked to depression. Unlike antidepressant medications, TMS does not travel through the bloodstream and does not cause whole-body side effects.
Treatment is performed in our office. No anesthesia is required, and you can return to your normal daily activities immediately after each session.
